Staff is a feature added in Alpha 3. From the park UI, players click on the Park Management tab to access all the park business operations including the hiring and firing of staff members. To hire a staff you need to click while over the entrance (the part the player did not make). The food and drink premade buildings and shacks as well as all the ride booths already come with personnel. In earlier Alpha builds, a pirate would appear when a Pirate themed pre-designed building was placed. With the addition of Staff, this may no longer be the case.
Hiring staff also means maintaining them. Like staff at any job, they can be happy and excited to work or become moody and irritated and dislike their job. Players will need to monitor their staff, which includes training them, adjusting pay or if necessary, firing them. If they are fired, they will leave the park, but not before complaining as they head for the exit. Staff who are very unhappy may even quit and the player will need to hire new staff.
To locate a staff member in the park, click on Park Management. Click on the second tab - Staff List. This will bring up a list of all the staff members currently employed, separated by their job type.
Staff List[]
Players currently have the option to hire Entertainers, Maintenance, and Vendors. Here is the different kind of staffs available in the game.
Maintenance[]
- Janitor
- Janitors walks around the park with a broom, sweeping up trash and vomit from guests, and push down on trash in bins with their brooms to empty them. The number of janitors needed depends on the amount of pathways in the park as guests will only leave trash and vomit on pathways, which also makes it more necessary to put out Recycling Bins, Garbage bins, and Restrooms.
- Mechanic
- The Mechanics job is to repair any rides that have broken down and objects that have been vandalized in the park. Mechanics will head over to the ride or object and use different tools to repair it.
- Security Guard
- Security Guards patrol around the park to catch any guests that engage in criminal activities, such as vandalism and pickpocketing other guests in the park. When a guest is caught by security, they will be forced to leave, including being chased out.
Entertainment[]
Entertainers walk around the park to keep guests happy. There are different entertainers to choose from. The base game includes:
The deluxe game version includes:
DLC game includes:
Vendor[]
Vendors are staff that serve guests in shops.
Staff Stats[]
Clicking on a staff avatar will bring up a window with four tabs - Overview, Employment, Training and Statistic. Here, the player can allocate the employee via managing their work task, salary, and training. They can also view their thoughts and status for better management.
The basics of any employee consists of four things: their happiness, their energy, their salary and their training.
Happiness and energy[]
These are the two stats which directly influence an employee’s decision to quit or not. Happiness can be raised by solving their thoughts (shown in the Overview tab) or by giving them a training.
An employee’s thoughts usually show how much they think about their workload, whether it is high or low. They are most happy when the workload reflects their salary. To balance this, player can change the number of employees or change the employee salary.
Training is a way to increase happiness, but doing so also increases salary expectations.
In scenarios where employees need rest, an energy stat will show up. As the employee works, they consume their energy. When their energy is low, an employee will go to the nearest available Staff Building and refill energy there.
Salary[]
Salary is an important stat because it directly affects the player’s income. Balancing salaries also increases an employee’s happiness. The default salary of each type of staff can be found at their pages respectively.
Training[]
Training shows an employee’s current training level and how productive they are. Training an employee gives an instant boost to their happiness; however, it also increases their salary expectations.
Training costs money and takes time. An employee who has received training recently cannot be trained again because of a cool down period. The training cost for each type of staff can be found on each of their pages.
Staff Building[]
Staff now have their own building to take breaks in. Having these available will help with staff happiness and statistics. Players can also give employees perks with a cost.
Make sure to build a few of them in your park if your park is big or have too many employees. An employee can have at most one type of perk.
