  • The footer on the front page titled "Simulation Games" has been announced as no longer being officially updated by FANDOM and is essentially a mess anyways. We've created a footer at the Jurassic World Evolution Wiki we propose that you replace the existing one with using the code

9w:ParkSimulationFooter9 (replace 9's with two { brackets on each side) to create this:

    https://community.fandom.com/wiki/Template:ParkSimulationFooter

  • Would you be interested in contributing to the Dawn of Man Wiki that I created which is located at this link?[1]

    • Sorry. That isn't a game I am familar with or plan to play.

  • I feel it would make a bit more sense if the infobox for decor changed from "third_type" to "ter_type" as primary, secondary, and tertiary is the hierarchy for that kind of naming. If it does mess up all the infoboxes on the wiki, however, then just disregard this.

Also, thanks for doing so much work for the wikia Pinkachu. There's so much you've already done before I started making edits. I've never seen anyone on Wikia work as hard as you have. If you need anything done, just contact me and I'll do my best to help.

    • Thanks for the suggestion but it would have to be changed on every previous article it was used on. That doesn't mean I couldn't use a bot and change them, but my main concern for now, is adding new content and renaming those that need it (ie: Cutout Signs from alpha have all been renamed and are now part of the Misc Sign Set - this is just one example).  I would continue to use the template the way it is now. I can always look at botting the change in the future when I have more time.

Thank you for your kinds words. I don't have a lot of free time but when I do, I spend part of it here. As for needing help, right now I am creating screenshots of every new decor item (from alpha 3 to beta) and its icon. Once I have them uploaded, then I will make article pages for them. This is very time-consuming. Because I have been primarily the only person working on this wiki until recently, it does help that I know exactly which images I already have and which ones I don't, so it might be easier for me to continue the screen clipping of decor items myself until the beta additions are caught up. Help with creating articles for them would, however, be very appreciated.

I have uploaded over 650 new decor images (screenshot plus icon) since last Wednesday. Enough for at least 320 articles.

      Special:Images

If guides are more your thing, help with creating or updating those is great too. The in-game tools have changed, so some of the articles need new information I'm sure. New players might need help getting started with their first build and with all the wiki work, I barely have time to play, at least for now, so I'm not exactly qualified to give them advice.

      Thanks!

    • No problem. I'm more into setting up new pages and setting the details in place. I'm also fine with correcting old pages' info if that's needed.

And woah, that's a lot of images. I can see that you're really here for the long run and definitely have lots of experience with this stuff if you've gotten that many in that time. I've only really jumped between Wikias, picking up where others left off, adding bits and bobs here and there, but I think I'll try to help Planet Coaster the most. It's definitely a game I'll be playing a while, and I'm ready to help out as much as I can.

As for guides, that's not my area of expertise. Not only have I never really written any guides, I'm not proficient enough to explain things.

Thanks for letting me help out, and once again thanks for taking the time to do almost all of this. It looks very nice.

Last thing: For renaming stuff, would you like me to put the original object's name somewhere on the page?

    • Re: renaming -  no need to put the original name on the page. When I rename pages, I allow it to leave a redirect, which is enough. Then I just need to make sure the infobox is up to date (name, price, color change, etc). As for the tertiary thing, I did change the label name, which of course populates all the infoboxes immediately. I am in the process of botting the change from third_type to ter_type  right now. It will probably take an hour or so.

    • Thanks.

Sorry for the small bit of inactivity, school and another community I'm involved in got me a bit tied up. I'll try to get some stuff done over the weekend. Also, thanks for taking my suggestion into action. I'm glad to see how much you've done in such a short amount of time.

I bet now that the game has been released more people will be coming to help out here.

  • Hi Pinkachu,

Thank you so much for just about single-handedly making this whole entire wiki for all of the Planet Coaster fans, like me, read about all of the different aspects and elements of the game.

I'm very appreciative that you have spent so much time for all of us fans!

    • It's the reason I am not yet very good at building. I don't have time!  Tomorrow the beta launches and I will once again be completely buried in an avalanche of new screenshots to take and pages to create. LOL  I think the game is awesome though and totally worth the hundreds of hours I have put into the wiki. My hope is that users fill find it useful once the game launches and help out. I especially need guides written. I built one coaster and if the repeated nausea didn't kill you, the g-force probably would have. Thank god for blueprints.  I replaced it as soon as I found a blueprint of one that fit the same space. Maybe with a well-written guide to follow, I will try the coaster building again.

I love all you talented players out there! My talent is in wiki editing, so that's how I will be helping out. My name might not ever be well known on Steam or by the Community Team for Planet Coaster but that's okay too.

Your kinds words are very much appreciated! Thank you!

    • I'm in the same boat as you, I'm terrible at building! But I also love the game and I'd be very happy to help in the near future. Unfortunately my computer doesn't like to work with Planet Coaster and it'd be a miracle to get 30 fps on the lowest graphics. Since I'll likely be unable to do a lot of building, I will do my best to capture screenshots of new features to help out!

    • Hey, I'm sorry but I won't be able to help :( My computer no longer meets the requirements and I can't play the game.

    • No worries. Thanks for offering. Sorry about the computer situation. Hope you are one day able to upgrade or replace it. I'm not sure that the game has been optimized yet. I do know it makes my mid-range video card whimper on occasion which is silly. Nonetheless, after the game runs for a couple hours, terrain especially will start to flicker or disappear and the fans have to run full speed. I do hope this gets better in the future.
