Coaster Doors are animated scenery items which can be triggered by rollercoasters and timed, so that the doors swing open for the coaster train to come through. There are several variations of themed coaster doors. They are often placed in stations and open and close when the ride leaves and returns.

Variations[]

  • Coaster Doors, a plain white door with the Planet Coaster logo. Part of the Planet Coaster theme.
  • Fantasy Coaster Doors, a rusted portcullis gate which draws up and down. Part of the Fairytale theme.
  • Launch Bay Coaster Doors, a futuristic, spaceship door with three moving components that slide to open. Part of the Sci-Fi theme.
  • Ancient Temple Coaster Doors, a sandstone double-door with runes and engravings on it. Part of the Adventure theme.
  • Ancient Rock Coaster Doors, a tombstone door that slides upwards into a stone frame. Part of the Adventure theme.
  • Stables Coaster Doors, a wooden set of double doors that swing open like stable doors. Part of the Western theme.

Triggers[]

See: Triggers

Coaster Doors can be triggered to open whenever a car passes over a certain section of track. Players must ensure they open in time without colliding with the car and track.

Notes[]

  • Coaster doors as they appear in Planet Coaster are very unrealistic as many of them overlap with the track. To achieve realism, players would have to raise them above the track.
  • An example of coaster doors in real life is present on Blue Fire at Europa Park.
